Kazakhstan hosted the Nordic Walking World Cup stage for the first time in history. Athletes from 10 countries arrived in Almaty, including Spain, Poland, Germany, Denmark and Finland. In total, more than 200 athletes took part in the world-class competition.
Athletes competed in three main distances: 5, 10 and 21 kilometers. In addition, there was a 5-kilometer distance for para-athletes and a 2-kilometer race for children.
10 international judges monitored the correct Nordic walking technique.
The partners of the international competitions were: the company “Extreme Athletics” JSC, the akimat of Almaty, as well as such well-known brands as “TURAN water”, “Leki”, “NORTHUG”, “NUTREND”, cosmetics “NUXE” and “BIOLANE”.
In addition to Kazakhstan, stages of the competition this year were held in Poland, Slovakia and Morocco.
